The Royal Society of Chemistry's flagship exam for post-16 students, opening with a two-hour written Round One paper sat at more than a thousand schools. Top scorers advance to a residential Round Two at the University of Nottingham, from which the four-student UK team for the International Chemistry Olympiad is chosen.
